About David Brooks
During the day I’m a UX Developer for Fellowship Technologies. Before that I was an Interface Developer for Fry Incorporated where I worked on large scale eCommerce websites. Long ago I was also the Visual Media Developer for Asbury Theological Seminary.
I hold a Masters Degree in World Missions (basically “Intercultural Studies”) from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Bachelors Degree in Spanish from Spring Arbor University (emphasis on Latin American Literature and Culture).
Artist Statement
I wish I could say that I’ve wanted to be a photographer all my life, but the truth is that I stumbled into it almost by accident. I was studying Spanish at Spring Arbor University when I decided to take Photography as an elective course. At the first click of the shutter I was hooked.
I’m not one to meddle or disrupt a scene. I prefer to stay out of the way and silently observe and document the things that I see. My goal has always been to take the most realistic photo of the moment that I can possibly capture. For me, I would much rather show the world as it is during a single second than arrange it to be something that it’s not. The more I act on that, the more I find that the world and everything in it is much bigger, richer and full of detail than I had ever imagined.
And thank God for that.
